The Account Manager will report directly to the Manager, Affordable Housing Services and will leverage Bright Power's exemplary reputation and brand to help deepen existing Account relationships and expand the company’s pipeline within the Affordable Housing sector in the NYC Metro Area.

The position provides the opportunity to work with the Manager to support and then eventually manage a strong portfolio of existing clients while also helping facilitate outreach to prospective accounts. This is a unique position to work at the intersection of the Energy Management field and an expanding area of the NYC real estate industry. By focusing on this sector, the Account Manager will have the opportunity to help shape Energy Management strategies for an increasing number of affordable housing providers and developers.

The position will require a mixture of supporting the Manager’s efforts to deepen our relationships with existing clients, helping craft service proposals, running analyses, coordinating internally with engineers and service deliver teams and accompanying the Manager on meetings and calls with clients and prospects. Bright Power is focused on providing services in the following area which the Account Manager would have direct exposure to and responsibility for selling:

- Onsite Generation Consulting and Installation Services (Solar PV, Battery Storage and Cogeneration)

- Green Building Consulting and Certification Services (LEED, Passive House, Enterprise Green Communities, Fitwell and Commissioning)

- Utility Bill and Real Time Data Enabled Ongoing Energy Management Services (EnergyScoreCards and MoBIUS)

- Energy+Water Efficiency Retrofit Services (Lighting, HVAC, Envelope, Plumbing)

It is our strong intention that this role will provide the Account Manager the opportunity to learn the business and a combination of building science and affordable housing finance so that he/she can take on additional responsibilities of directly managing company accounts at the appropriate time.

The Role

● Provide assistance to help support (and eventually manage part of) an existing portfolio of clients, in pursuit of Bright Power becoming the trusted Energy Management adviser or partner to our clients.

● Prospect and qualify new clients within the affordable housing real estate sector in conjunction with the Manager of Affordable Housing Services.

● Develop a deep understanding of existing client’s past and current work with Bright Power, organizational structure and Energy Management practices.

● Monitor, measure and track progress of opportunities in, and provide weekly reporting to supervisor.

● Participate in projects or assignment as directed on behalf of Manager, including but not limited to:

○ Account research, including developing background on prospective client portfolio.

○ Generating proposals and drafting emails that present the company’s value proposition clearly and effectively.

○ Analyzing economics of various energy related investment opportunities for clients

○ Scheduling internal and external meetings and calls.

○ Effectively keeping records in shared project and/or account management tools.

○ Initiating opportunities to communicate with clients directly.

● Help create new or improve upon existing Energy and Water management action plans for the Manager’s portfolios and properties through Bright Power’s “Find, Fix, Follow” approach.

● Consultatively identify opportunities to develop Energy & Water efficiency, On-Site Generation and Power resiliency projects.

● Learn and understand Federal/State and Utility policies and programs impacting an Energy Management strategy for a client, with the ability to apply project financing, where available.

● Join Manager of Affordable Housing Services at industry events and learn to represent the company and support our expanding presence in the market.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

● 3+ years of experience in Account Management, Energy, Real Estate, Affordable Housing or a related field.

● Ability to support existing relationships, receive guidance and incorporate constructive feedback into his/her work.

● Creativity in locating new clients and sources of revenue.

● Experience in working with government/utility energy incentive programs.

● Construction or building management experience.

● A history of participation in professional industry associations.

● Ambition to develop the skills needed to manage his/her own account relationships successfully.
