POSITION SUMMARY: The Affordable Housing Specialist is responsible for providing high-level support to the Affordable Housing Regulatory practice and works closely with the Strategic Policy Advisor and practice group to manage the overall process of regulatory submissions to governmental agencies.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Position reports and provides direct support to the Strategic Policy Advisor.


  • Partner with the Strategic Policy Advisor to assist clients in assessing the regulatory regime of various properties and advise as to approvals necessary to acquire properties.
  • Work with clients and the Affordable Housing Regulatory and Transactional teams to prepare regulatory submissions to government agencies.
  • Produce relevant documents to accompany regulatory submissions, including cover memorandum and draft regulatory documents.
  • Interact with clients and governmental agencies to oversee submissions and keep them moving forward and obtain necessary approvals, attend meetings either virtually or in person; frequent participation in conference calls
  • Manage signature process for necessary regulatory approvals and ensure delivery of documents to attorneys closing transactions.
  • Remain up-to-date on important Affordable Housing topics/issues as programs evolve and new programs roll out; seek relevant training, attend industry events, maintain relevant memberships
  • Works with Strategic Policy Advisor to ensure prompt, high quality service to clients.
  • Establishes clear and effective lines of communication to keep all stakeholders informed of progress, developments, issues
  • Work closely with support staff to ensure seamless service to internal and external clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Efficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Power Point proficiently
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work outside business hours and occasional weekends as necessary


Some college coursework required; Bachelor’s degree preferred


3-5 years of professional experience ideally in a role with exposure to federal affordable housing
