The Policy Associate will play a key role in advancing CPC’s position as an industry leader and in the communication of CPC’s unique perspective on key local, state and federal policy priorities. This person will work closely with the Vice President of Policy and the Office of the CEO to advance CPC’s policy platform and will provide research and data analysis to support CPC’s policy and advocacy efforts. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research in connection with City, State and Federal housing initiatives, community development, and economic development to assess the impact on CPC’s business and evaluate CPC’s positions
  • Project manage and draft written testimony, public comment submissions, policy briefs, and support priority policy initiatives
  • Develop meeting agendas, presentations, and briefing documents
  • Research industry trends and prepare summaries and reports to support CPC’s business objectives. Synthesize policy and research information as needed
  • Work with senior leadership to develop policy recommendations, and identify opportunities and strategies to ensure CPC’s goals are effectively communicated to government partners and elected officials
  • Participate in trade group and industry discussions; attend meetings, hearings and events as scheduling permits
  • Perform other administrative duties, as required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced degree, or equivalent experience, in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
  • 2-5 years’ professional experience in Affordable Housing, Community Development or Real Estate required
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manage/analyze large datasets using methodological best practices
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must be detail and deadline oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, team environment
  • Occasional travel required.
